Ciara Curtin

"We are always a work in progress, here to transform our internal universe,

to enjoy the path of discovering our inside/ outside world connections" - Ciara Curtin

Ciara was always interested in healing be it the animals around her, the plants, curious about the cycle of life and spiritual world.

Ciara started her "official" Journey in Therapy Training in 2004, in the Cork College of Commerce, where she completed year one of the Complementary Health Therapy. Here, the seed was set, the hunger for more knowledge and further techniques grew, she found further Colleges and Tutors teaching specific styles of bodywork or energy work, that would complement her treatments and bring her closer to her core practice.

As time progressed, Ciara found a remembering happening, as she dived deep into the cultural studies.

The Path of the Medicine Woman.

She continues to deepen her practice, from the roots and via her heart,

to remembering with honour and gratitude, her ancestral line.

In time, our hearts are drawn to the path where we feel most at home, standing in our truth if we dare to walk it.

"I feel my practice is a flow, a vibrancy of life,

the more I follow my heart in bringing to my practice what I love, aligning with ones destiny,

and what I intuitively know works best for each individual, that which gets positive results.

 Healing isn't easy!!

It can be a rollercoaster and a raw path at times to a more harmonious space

but in that passing is finding oneself in their highest form.

When spirit allows, I can facilitate to help people and animals.

taking the path least avoidable, becoming the bird flying home."

Ciara continues her studies in the heart of a forever student, following the path her heart alights.

In becoming Teacher, she remains at heart a student, as no one is above learning,

with the aim of continuing to pass on via my life the teachings I receive to share in this life time.

Ciara Curtin - Artist

My other Passion in life is My Art,  mainly Paintings & Drawings,

allowing my heart to explore and create where it dreams or initiates.

I have floated back and forth from my Art over the years as Life pulled me in different directions but settling with my creative space has enlightened me, has opened the heart and mind, it has found apart of me I thought lost and has rebirth something within me that I just can't put words to right now but puts a smile on my face.

It is a form of therapy, a way of looking at reality but escaping through imagination.

It's that combination of floating between worlds, creating a flow between life and death, the black and white gradient vs the colour spectrum....

In all to see the Balance, to portray the light and the dark.

I began my passion for art at a very young age,

apologies to those adults whose walls I destroyed with pen or paint

or whatever I could get my hands on :-)

I fell in love with painting more and more with every year that passed.

I did two years in Limerick Art and Design School

where in year 2 I began and choose to specialise my studies in Print.

After Year 2 I continued my Art education solo,

finding more exploration and satisfaction in my work, to create without boundaries.

My subject matter, when young, used to be mainly animals

but as I experimented with different mediums,

I roamed and explored many topics,

allowing my heart to grow but finding what subjects stimulated my creative passion.

My fingers roamed into Landscapes both near and far,

life-drawings to topics that encourage the viewer to form emotions or/ and questions.

My Artwork Today Portrays

My Celtic Lands combined with imagination,

MotherEarth & Spirit

Animal Kingdom.

To deepen the viewers relationship with themselves.

Depending on what my imagination did with the information it was given,

my heart depicted through the hands to paper or other.

I now work mainly with Oil on Canvas, Charcoal/ Graphite/ Pen

but do from time to time return to watercolour where my adventure first began.

I also do etchings when I can gain time in a print studio.

The interest to create and learn also ventures into

Wood carving, clay, pottery/ ceramics and knitting.

As a Medicine Woman I do a lot of crafting with wood in making sacred tools, wands, brooms, Fabrics - Cloaks, Mala's, Jewellery and much more....

My father introduced me to photography as a child which I fell in love with,

that idea of capturing moments in time or the perfect scene. In my artwork I use them a lot as studies or with imagination bring ideas to canvas.

When asked what inspires my work, sometimes it is hard to answer, my mood at the time, to convey a message that I feel needs a voice, photography of a place or moment, fellow artists, a book or movie or even an event that creates a feeling or atmosphere. Irregardless it is a moment in time I wish to capture through my eyes transferred to paper, canvas or other via my hands ....
